Verbs Transitive and Intransitive

Post  Vincent Law on Sun Jun 30, 2013 8:15 am

- More examples of transitive verbs: hug, attack, eat, tell (All of these must be done TO something -- they must have a direct object. You can't just "hug." You must "hug someone." "Someone" is your direct object.)

- More examples of intransitive verbs: hibernate, smile, explode, breathe

Remember
: verbs aren't always just ONE type.

If this remains unclear, feel free to ask for further information about intransitive and transitive verbs.
