My Ear Training Videos
What is Ear Training?
In speech therapy, ear training is teaching the student about the speech sounds the therapist will teach the student. It begins with teaching the student to listen carefully and tell the difference between a sound and sounds that are like it. The student then listens to sounds in words and sentences.
The program Auditory Discrimination in Depth (ADD)
The program originally known as ADD (now known as LiPS) was created to teach very young children to read and write words of three or four letters. It's used for other purposes, such as teaching the hearing-impaired to understand spoken language
It teaches students to understand the speech sounds. It does this with hearing, sight, and feeling. It's really a linguistics course made simple enough for children.
My ADD videos
I have made six videos based on the program and uploaded them on YOUKU and You Tube. They are named “English Vowels” and numbered (1) … (6). The first video displays the word “Introduction.”
If you want to view my videos, I suggest that you also view the videos that teach the vowels I talk about. YOUKU has good ones, the lessons of a teacher named Rachel. Go to YOUKU and search with the word “pronounce” and the, name of a vowel. Here's how Rachel spells the names of the vowels:
FRONT: EE, IH, EH, AY, AA
LOWER: AH, AW
BACK: UH BUTTER, UH PULL, OO
Also, you might want to see her video "Vowel Comparison: American English Pronunciation."
(The meanings of “front,” “lower,” and “back” are explained in my videos.)
Here are the YOUKU addresses of my videos:

If you have trouble with YOUKU, they are also on You Tube:
Use the same key words to find the vowel lessons.

Re: My Ear Training Videos
Thanks a lot, Vincent. My Skype name is englishhelponline.
My time zone is east coast U.S., “New York time,” That should give you an idea of the hours I keep, although they can vary greatly.
As I said, I'd like to find out if Skype is a good medium for accent reduction. Since this is experimental, I don't want any payment from ESLC members.
