1. Focus your study of English to only one field of the language (Ex: Politics, Cinema, Arts...). Discover the vocabulary of this semantic field, read articles about it, watch video to be used to hear conversation about the topic. This way you will know what you talk about, and use the correct vocabulary, meanwhile improving your knowledge of the language.

3. You don't need to remember all the new words you hear or you read, but only one word a week. It may seem that 4 words a month are very little vocabulary, but the goal is to make sure that you will use the word correctly, remember it, and completely integrate it to your vocabulary. Be honest, you never use the method to learn 10 words a day more than a month, and you mostly forget the hundred words you learn this way! This is because you learn words that you never use! Now write for yourself 1 WORD that you find important and want to manage. Your goal is to use that word 2 times a day for a week, it makes 4 words for a month. If you do this, you will remember the word for sure, but also learn the pronunciation of the word, and have the opportunity to be corrected if you misuse the word.

4. Keep a notebook on the desk where you have set your computer. To be honest we use computer everyday, a long time. It is recommended that each time you meet a new word, you write it in your notebook, and write its translation (using for instance Word Reference.Com). This way you will be able to review the vocabulary you use daily and to remember it.

6. Find a native speaker to be your teacher, and try to meet him regularly for one or two hours, in order to improve your pronunciation and your understanding of the English language. Don't hesitate to talk about things your heard in movies or anywhere else, that you did not understand at first. Especially bring something to read with you, and ask the native to correct you while you read; when finish reading, ask the native to read it once for you (and vice versa).

7. Buy a book teaching the basics of English grammar and go through it. See how many basic grammar rules you have already forgotten, or never heard about.
